Quarry Park Mountain Bike Trails

It might surprise you, but yes – mountain biking trails do exist in Footscray! The reserve is located off Farnsworth Avenue – just moments away from Millhouse Residence – and was formerly a quarry and landfill site before being transformed to a mountain bike park. Take the kids on one of the three descents (1 easy, 2 intermediate) while enjoying views of the city. There’s also a skills park and pump tracks to test out your biking tricks.

Parks and Playgrounds

When you live at Millhouse, you’re in close proximity to a range of parks and playgrounds. Kevin Shorten Reserve is a great option for smaller children, with a fully fenced in playground filled with a large tractor to play in, as well as swings, sandpits, surfboards, climbing frames and more!

For those with older children, Newells Paddock is a great place to run around and stretch their legs with soccer, cycling and basketball facilities. As an urban nature reserve and reclaimed wetland area, it’s also a great place to spot birds and other native fauna.

For the real showstopper however, you cannot go past Footscray Park. With water jets, a splash zone, water pump and creek bed, prepared to get a little wet before venturing to the playground. Kids of any age will have a ball playing on the flying foxes, climbing frames, musical instruments, nest swing and much, much more.

Scienceworks in Spotswood – just 6km away from Millhouse – is bursting with things to challenge curious children of all ages.
